T.P.A
The basic Transpalatal Arch is made using wire with a center loop. It is soldered to the molar bands as shown. The palatal wire must be relieved from the tissue for patient comfort. A fixed Transpalatal can be inserted as a passive appliance or slight adjustments may be made to widen and/or rotate molars.

Treatment & Care
This appliance should be cleaned every day with toothpaste and a soft toothbrush, morning and night. Encourage the patient to give sufficient time to clean thoroughly around the appliance, gums, teeth, and bands to maintain proper hygiene and prevent inflammation. 3 minutes is recommended.
